what is ‘anglican’?

The historical and vibrant global movement of Anglicanism, the third largest association of Christian churches in the world, has its roots in the Protestant Reformation in the Church of England. Features of this heritage include being:

  • Biblical—believes the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God written and to contain all things necessary for salvation.

  • Creedal - affirms the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed with Christians around the world and down through the ages

  • Reformed—subscribes to the biblical beliefs of the English Reformation’s Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion

  • Gospel-focused—committed to communicating God’s good news (“Gospel”) to the world.

  • Liturgical—participatory worship whose patterns and theology line up with the Book of Common Prayer of 1552/1662

Our values reflect those of the New Testament community, the Protestant Reformation, and global Gospel-centered Christianity.

We are global participants in GAFCON and have signed the Jerusalem Declaration as a statement of our shared faith with our Anglican brothers and sisters around the world.

We have rich relationships with associations such as The Gospel Coalition (TGC) https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/nine-things-you-should-really-know-about-anglicanism/ and their warm support of Anglican churches like Grace.

We invite you to look through these ancient and modern statements of Christian faith. We further invite you to contact us if you have any questions!
